Over the years, it has really bothered me to see neighbors with disabilities and families like my own struggling just to navigate our town for a simple stroll. The truth is, our city lacks basic ADA compliance, and having accessible sidewalks is something that benefits every single one of us. Moving around our community shouldn't be a daily struggle for anyone. I put my name on the ballot because I firmly believe we can change that. We can build a city where everyone can travel safely and comfortably. Together, we have the opportunity to make this necessary fix, and I am ready to work with you to make that change happen for our whole community.
When I talk about making our community a true family-town, I am focused on the everyday spaces that touch our daily lives. Right now, our neighborhoods need essential improvements that bring people together and keep everyone safe. I will fight to deliver real results where it matters most: building safe, accessible sidewalks so families can walk around comfortably, creating proper bike paths for our kids and residents, and constructing a new playground. A new playground gives our children a fun, safe place to play and gives parents a place to connect with neighbors. These investments are about improving our quality of life and making sure our town remains a wonderful place for every family. I am ready to get to work for our community.
When I think about the future of our neighborhood, it starts right inside our school doors. That is why I am committed to working hand-in-hand with our local school officials, bringing everyone together so our entire community moves forward in unison. Our teachers, staff, and students deserve the best environment to learn and grow, and right now, they need our support. I will spearhead fundraising efforts to secure essential classroom materials for our kids and staff, as well as a much-needed new sound system for our school events and assemblies. When we invest directly in our schools, we invest in our children and the heart of our community. Together, we can make sure our school has what it needs to succeed.
Affordability is one of the most pressing challenges facing our community today. For too many of our low-income families, making ends meet is becoming harder every single day. If elected, I am dedicated to planning and enacting real, practical programs that provide direct support to those who need it most. We can make an immediate difference by implementing utility deposit waivers so families aren't weighed down by upfront costs just to keep essential services running. I am also committed to creating down payment assistance programs, helping local working families get a foothold on buying a home and building lasting stability right here in our neighborhood. I believe in concrete solutions that lift up our neighbors, and I will work tirelessly to bring true affordability back to our community.
